Hudson Tufted Upholstered Bed Frame By South Bay

The Hudson Tufted frame is genuinely beautiful and very well made once assembled. The instructions however are confusing - several steps are illustrated unclearly and the hardware labeling doesn't match the diagram labels in two places. Assembly took three hours instead of the one hour I expected. Once it was done it was perfect. South Bay should revise the manual to match the quality of the product.

The tuft pattern on the headboard is even consistent and well-executed. Each button is set at the right depth creating the diamond pattern cleanly. I've seen upholstered frames at twice the price with less careful tufting. The fabric is tight smooth and shows no puckering anywhere. South Bay paid attention to the craftsmanship details that make the difference between good-looking and cheap-looking.

The Hudson Tufted frame elevated our bedroom from functional to genuinely beautiful. The tufted headboard is the focal point the room needed and the upholstery quality is far better than I expected at this price. Assembly took about an hour with two people and everything has stayed tight and sturdy after four months. South Bay made a frame that looks expensive without being expensive.

Four months in and the upholstery looks exactly as it did when assembled. No pilling no sagging no fading. I have a cat who occasionally gets near the frame and the fabric has resisted minor surface contact without showing damage. The weave quality is clearly above average for this price point. A frame that stays looking good over time.

Upholstered frames have a reputation for feeling less solid than wood or metal. The Hudson is the exception. The frame is rigid nothing flexes or wobbles and the slat system is robust. I'm 240 lbs and the frame handles me without any creak or movement. After four months of daily use it feels exactly as solid as when I assembled it.
