Foam encasement at 14 inches - edge support is extraordinary

14-inch hybrid mattresses usually have soft edges because there's more material to compress. The foam encasement on the ActiveAlign surrounds the coil system completely so the edges are as firm as the center. I sleep right at the perimeter and the support is identical to the middle of the mattress. South Bay solved the deep mattress edge problem that other manufacturers accept.

Copper cooling at 14 inches with hybrid coils - triple thermal benefit

Copper cooling from the infused foam. Hybrid coil airflow from below. 14 inches of material depth that distributes body heat more broadly. Three separate thermal mechanisms working together. I track sleep temperature and the ActiveAlign 14 inch Hybrid is the coolest mattress I've measured at any medium-soft feel. Hot sleepers who need a softer surface - this is the solution.

Medium-soft reads soft to me

The ActiveAlign 14 inch Hybrid is superbly constructed - every feature performs as described. My personal note is the medium-soft feel reads closer to soft than medium-soft to me. Coming from a medium mattress I found it softer than I expected. Dedicated soft sleepers and side sleepers who need pressure relief will find it ideal. People on the firmer side of medium-soft should calibrate accordingly.

Zoned foam at 14 inches - the depth makes the zones more effective

At 10 inches zoned foam has limited depth in each zone. At 14 inches each zone has proper material depth to deliver its intended support level. The firmer hip zone is genuinely firmer and the softer shoulder zone is genuinely softer. The 14-inch profile gives the zoning concept the room it needs to perform correctly.

Every feature on the ActiveAlign 14 inch Hybrid is purposeful. Copper cooling for temperature. Zoned foam for body-specific support. Reactive foam for immediate response. Foam encasement for edge integrity. Hybrid coils for airflow and responsiveness. 14 inches for full layer depth. Medium-soft for side sleeping comfort. Nothing is redundant and everything works. The most thoughtfully engineered mattress I've found.
