We'd had a basic metal frame for years and the bedroom felt like an afterthought. The Zoey Upholstered Platform Bed changed that immediately. The upholstered headboard and matching frame create a cohesive premium look that makes the room feel intentional. Multiple people have asked where we bought it assuming it was from a high-end furniture store.

The upholstered headboard has just the right padding density for leaning against while reading. Not so soft that you sink in uncomfortably and not so firm that it's like leaning on a wall. The height is also right - my head and shoulders fit naturally against it regardless of which position I'm reading in. Functional and beautiful.

The Zoey is beautiful once assembled and the construction quality is clearly good. The assembly took significantly longer than the estimate - closer to three hours with two people rather than the advertised time. The instructions were clear but the number of connection points is high. Worth the time investment for what you get. Just go in with realistic expectations.

The Zoey's platform base provides the firm flat surface a mattress needs without a separate box spring. We saved money on the box spring and the bed sits at a modern lower profile that works better with our room dimensions. The slat system is robust and well-spaced. Platform beds are the right design for foam mattresses and the Zoey is a beautiful execution.

I've seen upholstered beds at three times the price with worse fabric quality than the Zoey. The weave is tight the color is deep and consistent and the padding behind the headboard is substantial enough to actually lean against comfortably. South Bay put real fabric quality into this bed at a price point that feels underpriced.
